Two months ago, on Flag Day, I photographed Amy and Sean’s New Jersey patriotic military wedding, which bubbled over with true love and American spirit. The theme was fitting as Sean is a Sergeant First Class in the Army.
From the very beginning, the day was calm and relaxed. Amy even let me do something no other bride has ever allowed – hang her dress from a tree! I was excited for the opportunity to get some truly unique photos. And I loved the bride’s bright red shoes and baby blue and white bouquet. The small pops of patriotic touches were perfect!
Amy and Sean had a very sweet ceremony at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Church in Three Bridges, NJ. Not only was their priest the sweetest man I’ve ever met, he was also one of funniest! The guests laughed and cried through the whole ceremony.
One of my favorite moments was when their ring bearer delivered both rings to the bride and groom. My second favorite moment was when they exited the church as newlyweds while their friends and family celebrated by waving flags.
After the ceremony, we headed to in Clinton, NJ for a few sweet couple and bridal party photos. Everyone was so happy and full of laughs and smiles that the time flew by – I had so much fun with Amy and Sean that I almost forgot I was working.
After the Museum, we headed to the for a few more photos. This spot was especially meaningful to Amy and Sean as they enjoy hiking there. I am so glad we made the time to get this shot – the mountains, lake, and clear blue sky provided a gorgeous backdrop for this perfectly peaceful moment.
The reception was held in Sean’s family’s backyard in and I loved their set up and all the personal touches under the tent. Each table was named after a hiking trail or camp site they’d visited, guests were given American flag themed flip flops, and even the drinking straws and napkins were red, white, and blue!
I loved the napkins so much I stole one to stage the ring shot, and ended up with one of the best photos of the night.
Amy and Sean’s friends and family wasted no time when it came to the party – they got things started right away, and it was a blast. It was obvious that everyone was having a wonderful time, and I was so glad to capture every moment of it.
Thank you, Sean and Amy, for allowing me to capture your day. And a very special thanks to Sean for your service! <3
