Last week, I photographed Amy and James gorgeous wedding at The Boathouse At Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey! The Boathouse at Mercer Lake is a gorgeous venue located on the lake in Mercer County Park. A beautiful space for a wedding reception!

My favorite part of Amy and James’ wedding day was that there were so many personal touches to their day. Amy and James now live in Washington, DC but were married in her hometown and at her home church. Her cousin is an amazing hair and makeup artist for Pin It Up Bridal and was in charge of her hair and makeup, her Aunt was the florist for the day and Amy wore her late grandmother’s necklace and included her handkerchief on her bouquet as a memorial to her.

Amy and James were one of my most calm and happy couples this Spring. Their day began very dreary and with a heavy rain all morning, but once the ceremony had concluded and it was time to take photos outdoors at The Boathouse At Mercer Lake, the rain was gone and the ground was dry! I was so excited to get all the gorgeous photos of Amy and James with their bridal party and then the two of them before they attended cocktail hour.

Once the reception began, the first dance was sweet, there was not a dry eye in the house for both parent dances and speeches, Amy and James drank champagne from a ceremonial cup at the same time and their DJ, DJ Sully Music and Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night! My favorite part of their reception was when we snuck out for a few romantic rainy night portraits of just the two of them. Their Boathouse at Mercer Lake wedding was the perfect day and I am so excited to share these images!
