WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >

Last weekend, I photographed Alyssa and Eric’s beautiful The Chalfonte Hotel wedding! We had a gorgeous Summer day for their wedding and The Chalfonte Hotel was the perfect backdrop for their day, established in 1876, it is filled with historic charm and is recognized as the oldest original hotel in Cape May. Alyssa and Eric are college sweethearts who met at Rowan University in the first week of move in. They struck up a friendship when Alyssa asked Eric to join her friends in a card game of Egyptian Rat Screw in the lounge of their dorm. They developed a relationship as friends and continued to hang out together until one rainy evening,  Eric was finally able to nervously ask out Alyssa. A week later on April 7, 2011, Alyssa and Eric had their first date at Applebee’s. It might not have been the most romantic restaurant choice, but from the first time going out with Alyssa, Eric knew he always wanted to spend time with her.
Eric knew Alyssa was the one when they became best friends through the summer of 2011. He never felt so comfortable with someone before. Their interests and hobbies meshed well and even when they did nothing they still had a good time together. They both knew pretty early on that they had something special.
Alyssa and Eric were engaged on May 20, 2016. The proposal, from Eric: “On our first anniversary I took Alyssa to Tropicana in Atlantic City. On our 5th Anniversary I decided to take Alyssa back to the spot where we took pictures together on our first anniversary on the beach. I made a book titled “Our Adventure” filled with some of our favorite memorable moments together. On the last page I asked Alyssa if she would marry me and continue our adventure.”
And last Summer, I had the privilege of photographing these two on the beach for their engagement session these two were so sweet and so full of chemistry that I couldn’t wait for their wedding day at the Chalfonte Hotel!
Their wedding day was absolutely perfect. Alyssa and Eric picked the perfect palette of blush, ivory and pale green and her bouquet was gorgeous and filled with pink peonies and white flowers. I first met Alyssa in a hotel room of the Chalfonte Hotel and l loved capturing all her gorgeous details, final hair and makeup and then Alyssa dressing for the day! One of the things that Eric most looked forward to on their day was seeing Alyssa in her dress and this moment was incredibly emotional to photograph since Alyssa and Eric chose to be traditional and not see each other before walking down the aisle. The look on Eric’s face when he saw his bride for the first time was one of the sweetest moments I photographed all year! After these two said “I do”, we photographed the two of them all over the grounds of the hotel before they attended cocktail hour. Their reception was a ton of fun and filled with so many special moments.
Now that these two have finished planning their The Chalfonte Hotel wedding and are married and about to embark on their Jamaica honeymoon, their dream is to grow old together, they also both love the thought of traveling and raising children.
I loved photographing Alyssa and Eric at the Chalfonte Hotel in Cape May!
