WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
July 9, 2019
Last May, I photographed Nicole and Evan’s LBI Engagement Session! I met these two on a gorgeous Spring evening and it felt like we had the beach all to ourselves, which never happens on Long Beach Island! Scroll through to read their love story and to see all my favorites from their session.
Nicole and Evan met at DeSales University. He transferred there after the first semester of his freshman year. His friend from high school, Alec was dating one of Nicole’s college best friends, Katie at the time. They spent a lot of time together because of that couple, however they were both in other relationships at the time and were just friends. Those relationships eventually ended and the rest is history. They always refer to their first date as their “first not date”, which was at TJIFridays on Valentine’s Day in 2013. Evan’s friend Alec wanted to spend Valentine’s Day with Katie so Evan asked Nicole if she would get food with him that night since he “had no where to go or no one to hang out with” but she’s convinced it wasn’t their first date.
Engaged on 09/22/2018, the proposal from Nicole: “I worked the morning of that day, Evan told me we were going to LBI because his parents were looking at houses to buy, he took me on the beach, while his parents “we’re on the phone with the realtor” and asked me to spend the rest of his life with him. Then after I heard people screaming, I turned around (half annoyed) and said “omg who are those people?!” And Ev said “all your friends and family!” His parents rented a huge house overlooking where he proposed and all my best friends and family were all there! Hands down the best day of my life. All my friends and family also like to say the night before while they were setting up and getting ready was the best day of their lives!”
Nicole and Evan are planning a classic wedding next June with a traditional church ceremony followed by a reception at Scotland Run Golf Club. When these two are not wedding planning, they love their Saturday’s together when they start with a morning work out followed by a coffee date. Once married, their dream is to have a big family, a dog, a house in the suburbs and Nicole pictures Evan coaching the kids sports teams and traveling with their family.
Any advice for future bride’s planning?
Have fun! Even if you think you might not like something try it out! Evan is not the type of person to get dressed up and take pictures for two hours but at the end of our engagement photos he said “okay… that was actually a lot of fun, I would suggest people doing that!”
And finally, what are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
Feeling like a princess surrounded by all my favorites people standing next to my very favorite person in the whole world!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
