WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
April 14, 2020
Last Fall, I photographed Ashley and Drew’s Princeton University engagement session. We had a beautiful Fall day and I am so excited to share this session and their love story. Ashley and Drew first connected through a dating app, they both soon realized it was time to meet when messaging back and forth just didn’t seem like enough anymore. Ashley actually cancelled their first date at the last minute due to a family emergency, she was so grateful that he was understanding and they were able to reschedule their first date to the following week at Brick House Tavern.
Andrew knew Ashley was the one when he played her his favorite song and it brought tears to her eyes, when she completed his lyrics while singing in the car, and when he liked his apartment better with her there. Ashley knew Andrew was the one pretty early on in the relationship. It was the way he held the beach umbrella up by hand so she wouldn’t get burned when they couldn’t get it to stick in the sand, the way he truly listened when they talked about their favorite books and poems, the way their vision for the future seemed to align, and they way she laughed more often and harder with him than anyone else.
Engaged on 05/05/2019, the proposal: Andrew and Ashley booked a trip to Costa Rica and spent months planning out all of the details. They planned on seeing sloths out of their hotel window, jumping off waterfalls, and zip-lining through the rain forest. On the first full day, they spent their time having some drinks and guacamole at the beach, took a walk around the nature preserve, and finished with dinner overlooking the ocean. When they got back to the hotel room the room was decorated with roses and candles. Andrew got on one knee and asked her to marry him. Ashley was so excited that she almost knocked one of the candles over, but of course she said “yes!”.
When Ashley and Drew aren’t planning their classic and romantic Old York Country Club Summer wedding they love to spend their time trying new recipes, traveling, and attending concerts. On a quiet weekend, you’ll find them playing with their dog, Sadee, browsing books at local book stores, or finding nearby trails to hike. Once married, their dream is to move into a new home, travel to Thailand, and start a family in the next few years. When they retire they have dreams of opening a small coffee shop where local musicians and writers can share their work.
Any advice for future bride’s planning?
My best advice for future brides planning is to keep in mind the big picture. You’re marrying the love of your life. Everything else will fall into place.
And finally, what are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
Ashley is most looking forward to officially being called “Mrs. Sarrol” for the first time. Andrew is most looking forward to seeing Ashley walk down the aisle.
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
