Intimate Wedding at Sayen Gardens | Hamilton, NJ | Ashley & Drew

Last weekend, I photographed Ashley and Drew’s intimate wedding at Sayen Gardens in Hamilton, NJ. Ashley and Drew had planned for a July 18, 2020 wedding at Old York Country Club but when COVID-19 hit, they were forced to push their wedding plans to May 2021, but they knew they still wanted to get married on their original date and I am so glad they did! They had the perfect intimate wedding with their immediate family and I adored photographing them so much!

Engaged on 05/05/2019, the proposal: Andrew and Ashley booked a trip to Costa Rica and spent months planning out all of the details. They planned on seeing sloths out of their hotel window, jumping off waterfalls, and zip-lining through the rain forest. On the first full day, they spent their time having some drinks and guacamole at the beach, took a walk around the nature preserve, and finished with dinner overlooking the ocean. When they got back to the hotel room the room was decorated with roses and candles. Andrew got on one knee and asked her to marry him. Ashley was so excited that she almost knocked one of the candles over, but of course she said “yes!”.

After their engagement session last Fall, I asked Ashley if she had any advice for future bride’s planning their wedding and her response was so perfect considering the global pandemic we are currently facing, she said “My best advice for future brides planning is to keep in mind the big picture. You’re marrying the love of your life. Everything else will fall into place.” And she said this well before COVID was even a thought, perfect advice to any current brides affected by COVID-19 as well as any future brides who may be affected.
