On May 7th, I photographed Amanda and Michael’s Bernards Inn Wedding in Bernardsville, NJ. Amanda & Michael are my final 2020 COVID reschedule and I am so happy they finally had their day, these two waited an extra two years to say “I do” due to the pandemic and they did not let a little rain damper their moods, they had the perfect day and we captured so much love and joy! Amanda and Michael had a romantic wedding at the charming Bernards Inn with a color palette of pinks and reds with white/ivory and some greenery with a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony in Rosedale, NJ at Ss. Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
Amanda’s Aunt Irene played matchmaker with Amanda and Michael. She had been trying to set them up for years, but the timing was never right. Finally, they were both single at the same time and her Aunt did not waste any time giving Michael her number. They texted back and forth for a few days before setting up their first date. They finally had their first date on June 15, 2018 at the Sunset Pub & Grill in Lincoln Park at an adorable restaurant with outdoor space that’s right next to an airport, so you can watch planes take off and land while eating dinner! Amanda knew Michael was the one because it felt like she had known him her entire life. He was everything she had been looking for. They clicked from the start and he makes her laugh every single day.
Engaged on 12/21/2019, the proposal from Amanda: “Michael told me we were going to his office holiday party in the city, and that people get dressed up for it. So I got my hair done and bought a nice dress. After I was done getting ready, Michael told me he had something to show me in our backyard. He had decorated our deck and pergola with Christmas lights and lanterns, it was really beautiful. Then he got down on one knee and popped the question! His sister got it all on camera – she was hiding in the bushes, in the freezing cold!”
Amanda, an attorney and Michael a former attorney turned general contractor enjoy binge watching shows together, cooking and baking together, going for bike rides, hanging out with family and friends, going to the movies and exploring new places when they aren’t wedding planning. Now married, they’re most excited to start their family, they both can’t wait for that. They also love to travel and there are a lot of places on their list! Their advice for couple’s currently planning is to prioritize what you and your partner want to do, it’s YOUR day! And finally, they were most looking forward to their first dance at their Bernards Inn wedding as husband and wife! And it sure was memorable, they set off the fire alarms in the whole building with their sparklers and it was the most memorable and favorite moment of the day for them! Thank you to Amanda and Michael for choosing me to photograph your romantic Bernards Inn wedding, I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
