December 16, 2024
On December 7th, 2024, I photographed Sarah and Ryan’s Drexelbrook wedding in Drexel Hill, PA. Sarah and Ryan had a beautiful winter day for their classic and elegant wedding that had a color palette of emerald green, navy blue and gold. My favorite detail of the day were the florals! Sarah’s winter bouquet was filled white roses, anemones, winter greenery, pinecones and her florist gave me loose flowers to use for my bridal detail photos, which I love! I adored the winter vibes that this wedding gave!
Sarah and Ryan’s day was filled with lots of happy tears, Sarah gave both her parents beautifully written cards and meaningful gifts, she gave her sister a card to read and both the bride and groom exchanged cards before their first look that required lots of tissues! After the first look, they both tearfully read their personal vows before we used every inch of the Drexelbrook grounds for couple, bridal party and family photos before their indoor ceremony. They kept things personal for the ceremony with the groom’s cousin officiating and they braided a rope during the ceremony. Once the reception began, there were more happy tears with emotional speeches at the reception, a romantic first dance and a lively dance floor, my couple never left! Keep scrolling to view my favorites from their day!
Sarah and Ryan met on the dating app Hinge. For their first date, Ryan asked Sarah to the beer garden at Linvilla Orchards. They sat at a table, had a couple beers and got to know each other. Sarah says she knew Ryan was the one when he went away for training back in 2022 for over a month. They had very little contact with each other during that time and the way she missed him confirmed that he was the one she wanted to marry and didn’t want to be without him.
Engaged on 08/19/2023, the proposal from Sarah: “Ryan was scheduled to leave for Europe on August 21st for 6 months, so I threw a going away dinner with both of our families. While hosting the dinner, Ryan snuck off to our bedroom and secretly decorated the whole room with rose petals, candles and a big lit up sign that said “Marry Me”. He sent me a text asking me to come up and I walked in to him down on one knee!”
Sarah says that she loves that Ryan can make her laugh and he makes her feel safe. Ryan says that he loves that Sarah is his best friend and is always there for him. When they weren’t planning their Drexekbrook wedding, they enjoy good food, whether that’s going out to eat or eating at home. They take turns picking shows to binge watch and they enjoy football, although he is a 49ers fan and she is an Eagles fan. Now married, their dreams include continuing to travel, they hope to take at least one trip a year to knock some places off their bucket list. They also hope to have children in the near future. Sarah’s advice for couple’s currently planning their weddings is stay organized and write everything down!
Sarah and Ryan were most looking forward to being surrounded by their family and friends while they celebrated the beginning of their lives together. These two honeymooned in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, thank you to Sarah and Ryan for choosing me to photograph your Drexelbrook wedding!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
