Samantha & Patrick’s Colorful Summer Wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club
Samantha and Patrick’s August wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club in Williamstown, NJ was the perfect blend of classic elegance and joyful summer color. From the moment we arrived on site, the air was filled with anticipation, laughter, and just the right amount of wedding day butterflies. Both the bride and groom got ready at the venue, which allowed for a relaxed afternoon surrounded by their closest family and friends. The couple’s Sunset Sorbet color palette – a dreamy combination of peach, pink, orange, and purple – brought warmth and vibrancy to every detail of the day. Samantha described their wedding style as classic & timeless elegance with fun additions, and the mix of colorful florals and warm summer hues delivered exactly that.
Despite it being August, the day began with an unseasonably cool breeze – a rare treat for summer weddings. Once dressed, my couple had an emotional first look and their reactions to seeing each other were pure magic, full of tears and smiles. The outdoor ceremony in the pavilion was nothing short of heartfelt. With lush florals framing the altar, Samantha and Patrick exchanged emotional vows that had everyone misty-eyed. As the sun dipped lower, the celebration moved inside for a reception that was all about joy and connection. The lively dance floor never slowed down, with guests celebrating late into the night, wrapping up a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Samantha & Pat met when Sam’s sister and one of Patrick’s roommates were on the Alvernia University softball team, they met while attending a pretty uncrowded game on a rainy day against her alma mater. They exchanged glances, but not words that day – though Sam couldn’t help but tell her sister that she was interested! It turns out Patrick confided the same sentiments to his roommate, and the two connected them the next day. By that Thursday, they were on their first date! Sam and Pat’s first date was at Masa Hibachi in Wyomissing, PA, followed by a classy night of dollar beers at a local bar, Legends.
Sam knew Patrick was the one after seeing him interact with his family for the first time. Pat brings so much joy, life, and love into every room, and really does value family above all else. Seeing that in action really made it “click” that he is the kind of person she’d be lucky to spend her life with. Pat says he knew for sure that Sam was the one after the night they had at his cousin’s wedding – dancing and laughing together and blending right in with his family.
Engaged 06/17/2023, the proposal from Samantha: “Patrick is notorious for not being the best at keeping secrets! Our engagement had been built up for a few weeks, and he put so much love and energy into making it special, even despite some unexpected circumstances. My dad had been recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and was in and out of the hospital following a bone marrow transplant, and his mom had needed unplanned surgery (thankfully, both are healthy and doing well today!). Despite this, Pat gathered my siblings, Facetimed his mother, and put together a beautiful set up in a park near my childhood home before popping the question. It was a beautiful and perfect day that we look back on fondly!”
When they weren’t planning their August wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club, they love going on walks, trying new coffee shops, traveling to see their out-of-state friends, AND watching sports – however, Sam is a huge Philadelphia sports fan and Pat is a die hard New York fan, so this has been known to cause tensions in the past!
Every time they pass an elderly couple holding hands on their walks, Pat leans over and says that’s going to be them! Now married, they are excited to plant their roots in Pennsylvania, start growing their family, and exploring new things and places together. Their advice for couples currently planning is to enjoy the season of engagement! There’s a lot before marriage and a lot after, but the short time in between is something special. They were most looking forward to the dance floor on their wedding day and they never left it!
Samantha and Patrick’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that timeless elegance doesn’t have to be neutral – it can be bursting with life, color, and personality. They are off on a Hawaiian honeymoon, congrats to Samantha and Pat on your August wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
