Aarti and Bert’s Indian Wedding at The Palace At Somerset Park was one for the books. These two had an epic day and we captured so many details, traditions and moments, I am so excited to finally share this wedding!
The day started very early in the morning on March 4th at The Palace At Somerset Park. I photographed Aarti getting ready for their Hindu ceremony. Each detail was gorgeous and I loved photographing her wedding dress, her gorgeous gold jewelry and her beautiful transformation into the most stunning Indian bride I have ever seen!
While I was with the ladies, my second shooter Matthew was with Bert at a nearby hotel. Bert is not Indian, but he embraced the culture perfectly. I loved all his details just as much as i loved Aarti’s and his adorable smile was perfectly on display all day.
Once everyone was dressed, it was time for Bert’s arrival to the ceremony on horseback. This was such a fun moment to capture. Bert was all smiles while parading on the horse and his entire family led the way while performing a traditional Indian dance that eventually led him to his bride.
After a few Indian customs – stealing Bert’s shoes, cutting red tape before entering the building, and family hugging both sides, it was finally time for their traditional Hindu ceremony. I loved how Bert’s entire family embraced every single custom and moment during this ceremony, it was amazing to watch!
After the ceremony was complete, it was time for the most emotional part of the day. Aarti was escorted out of the building to a waiting car, her family was in tears – I loved capturing this extremely emotional moment and her Father’s reaction is why I love photographing weddings, it was hard to not get emotional myself!
After the ceremony, their guests dined on a traditional Indian lunch and then there was a break until their reception and cocktail hour. Once Aarti and Bert were in their second outfits for the day, we headed outside for a few romantic photos of just the two of them. These two had so much chemistry, I was so happy to sneak them away from their busy day for a few moments.
Their reception was nonstop! The dances continued and the crowd continued to embrace the culture of the evening. I loved photographing this wedding and love these images.
Congratulations to Aarti and Bert!
