WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
September 4, 2020
Last weekend, I photographed Adelyn & Eric’s Atlantic City Country Club wedding, they had a classic and romantic wedding and I am so excited to share their day! Adelyn and Eric had an original date of July 19, 2020 at Scotland Run Golf Club, their wedding planning has been a whirlwind of emotions from wanting to cancel their wedding, to possibly postponing to 2021, to securing a new date later in the summer at a new venue to flawlessly pulling off a total outdoor wedding at Atlantic City Country Club! While this is not what they originally planned, they’re so excited to finally be married after a two year engagement and to start their life together.
Advice from Adelyn: “Don’t plan a wedding during a pandemic! If there is anything the pandemic has taught me, its that the little details I was stressing over before COVID, like how to decorate the fireplace at cocktail hour, it doesn’t matter. When our original wedding plans were in shambles and we had to move our original date, venue, and honeymoon, we realized that we still have so much to be grateful for in our lives. We have our health, happiness, and support from all of our friends and family. And when all the craziness calmed down, that I would still get to marry my best friend no matter what. Don’t get so caught up in the details that you lose sight of what is most important – that you get to marry your best friend and spend the rest of your lives together.”
Eric and Adelyn met on June 20, 2014 at a house party in Manayunk. Their relationship hit a quick bump in the road that night after an unsuccessful beer pong partnership and a brief conversation about music. They quickly reconnected on the walk to the bar and never stopped talking. At the end of the night, Adelyn worked up the courage to ask Eric for his number and has never let him forget this fact!
After a few months into dating, Eric and Adelyn went to a Halloween party. It was when Adelyn was dressed as a princess and caught Eric off guard by rapping all the words to a Petey Pablo song, he knew she was the one at that moment. Less than a year into dating, Eric and Adelyn took a trip to Breckenridge with friends. Eric loves to ski and Adelyn has never skied before. Instead of skiing tougher trails and exploring the mountain, Eric spent the day skiing on the beginner trails with Adelyn. Adelyn worked up the courage to try an intermediate trail but it was too icy and she was too nervous to go down the steep slope. Eric offered to carry her skis (meanwhile still skiing), while Adelyn walked down the mountain.
Engaged on 08/18/18, the proposal: Eric took Adelyn to their favorite happy hour spot in Sea Isle City the first night of their week long vacation for their favorite drink. After a few drinks, Eric asked Adelyn to take a walk on the beach. As they approached the ocean, Eric paused and got down on one knee and proposed. If that wasn’t enough of a surprise, Adelyn’s mom hired a photographer to capture the entire moment. They took a few cute pictures on the beach and then Eric told Adelyn to look over her shoulder and to her surprise, all of her friends and family were coming down to join them.
Adelyn and Eric flawlessly executed a classic and romantic outdoor Atlantic City Country Club wedding with a color palette of rusty rose, coral and navy. Their summer day started with Adelyn and her bridesmaids in the bridal suite, I loved photographing Adelyn and her bridesmaids in this spacious bridal suite that was filled with natural light! I also loved photographing her well coordinated details, her invitation suite matched her flowers so perfectly.
Once they were both dressed, my couple read sweet cards to one another before the first look. As Adelyn walked up to Eric, the bridesmaids and both mother’s watched from nearby on the Sky Deck of Atlantic City Country Club. Once they officially saw one another we used every bit of the grounds for romantic and classic portraits of my happy couple before it was time for the ceremony.
Their ceremony was on Atlantic City’s Country Club new skyline garden and overlooked the skyline of AC. The ceremony was highly personal, Eric had two best men and one of them officiated the ceremony, my couple wrote each other the sweetest personal vows I have ever heard (there was not a dry eye from any of the guests, including me!) and there were sweet and funny readings by both the bride and groom’s brothers.
Their classic and romantic wedding day continued with stunning flowers, Adelyn’s bouquet was filled with café au lait dahlias, peach ranunculus, white peonies, white astilbe, white anemones, cappuccino roses, quicksand roses, and light rust colored ranunculus. They thought about every detail with their outdoor Attlantic City Country Club wedding and had hand sanitizer on the tables, a stunning seating chart welcoming guests to the pavillion reception and custom signs throughout.
Their laid back reception was filled with a romantic first dance for my couple, sweet speeches and a delicious diner! The night ended with a romantic night shot of the bride and groom!
The day after their Atlantic City Country Club wedding, Adelyn and Eric closed on their first home together and will be honeymooning in Greece in June of 2021 where they will be spending a night in Athens and then splitting time between Mykonos and Santorini. They’re so excited to drink wine and watch the sunsets. Thank you to Adelyn and Eric for allowing me to capture your beautiful Atlantic City Country Club wedding!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
