WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >

A little over a week ago, I photographed Katie and Aaron’s Barn at Silverstone Wedding in Lancaster, PA. Katie and Aaron had an elegant Fall wedding at the Barn at Silverstone filled with a color palette of burgundy, moss green, navy blue, plum and marigold orange. I am so excited to share this happy, joyful and colorful wedding!
Katie and Aaron met online playing World of Warcraft. At the time, she was living in Maryland and Aaron lived in New Jersey. They played together online almost every day and one day he invited her to come to New Jersey to meet for drinks and dinner. Their first date was dinner at Dolsot House Korean BBQ in Cherry Hill where he also introduced her to craft beer. Aaron seemed too good to be true, so Katie was very scared at first, but she knew early on that he was the one. She even texted her friend one month into dating to her tell her,“I’m so going to marry this guy.”!
Engaged on 07/21/2018, the proposal from Katie: “Aaron and I both knew we wanted to get married. We started talking more and more about rings and timelines for getting engaged. I definitely knew it was coming and thought that if my ring was ready – he was definitely going to propose at Star Wars: A New Hope with the Philadelphia Orchestra. We went out Friday night to see Star Wars with the Philadelphia Orchestra and I wore a dress (instead of my usual Star Wars shirts) and I was convinced this was it. When it didn’t happen, I was a little bummed but thought it MUST have been because my ring wasn’t ready yet. That same weekend, we went out to dinner at The Chop House for our anniversary. I was already convinced the ring wasn’t ready – so I was ready to relax, enjoy our anniversary dinner, and have fun. The waiter offered to take a picture since we were celebrating but Aaron put it off until the end of the night. After dinner and dessert, Aaron made sure we were standing for our picture and as I tried to pull him closer for the picture, he pulled away, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I asked him if the waiter was in on it but he said no!” Late last Summer, I was fortunate enough to capture their engagement session at Batsto Village where we had the best light ever!
Katie and Aaron had a beautiful Fall day for their Barn at Silverstone wedding. They had a Fall color palette of burgundy, moss green, navy blue, plum and marigold orange and Katie’s bouquet matched that color palette perfectly and was filled with African marigolds, big blue sea holly, seeded eucalyptus, roses of varying colors and lots of greenery with a pop of color. Zoe Fox Flowers did a wonderful job on this barn wedding!
The girls got ready at the bridal suite at the barn, I loved all the wood of the barn and especially loved hanging Katie’s dress in the window. The lace dress she chose perfectly complimented the elegant barn they chose for their day. While Katie’s flowers and dress were my favorite bridal details, my favorite groom details was Aaron’s socks, a nod to their adorable pup back home, who was also featured in their engagement session!
My couple met underneath the willow tree overlooking the hay barn for their first look. I absolutely loved capturing the joy on their faces and this continued for the rest of the day! After the first look , we walked all over the grounds of the Barn at Silverstone, I loved how rustic this property is and I loved hearing the Amish driving by in their horse and buggy’s while we explored! One of my favorite moments was when we photographed Katie and Aaron by the sheep, they were so excited that there was friendly sheep on the property and the sheep were more than happy to join us for a few photos 🙂
Once portraits were complete, it was time for their Jewish ceremony at their Barn at Silverstone wedding. Once the glass was broken and they said “I do”, it was time for their reception! Since these two met while playing World of Warcraft, it was no surprise that their wedding was filled with World of Warcraft details; from the wedding invitation to the table numbers to their guest book sign and even their cake! This group had an insanely fun dance floor and they partied all night at their Barn at Silverstone wedding.
Now that these two have finished planning their Barn at Silverstone wedding, they are excited to experience life together and have a family, they hope to have three kids. Katie’s mom always told her that with love as the foundation, a couple can get through anything. She didn’t really understand that until she met Aaron.
Congratulations to Katie and Aaron, I am honored you chose me to photograph your beautiful day!
