On October 30th , I photographed Allison and Kyle’s Beach Plum Farm Wedding in West Cape May, NJ. Allison & Kyle’s farm wedding was filled with rustic elegance. They chose this gorgeous farm as the backdrop for their wedding day because it is an elegant, upscale farm and it reminds them of their home. Their home is 300 years old and has two acres where they have three dogs, two goats, 12 chickens and a turkey.
Allison and Kyle met on a dating app, their first date was at a Flyers game. It was at the Wells Fargo Center on January 16th, 2019. The night was filled with many highlights, some of which included Allison ending up in VIP without a ticket, Kyle buying himself TWO stadium sized Miller Lites and Sean Couturier scoring a hat trick!
Allison knew Kyle was the one, when she had to spend a night in the hospital after their dog, Felix bit her hand and it became infected. The doctor told her that if she did not spend the night, she would lose her hand to the infection. To prevent that, she spent the night. Kyle had to leave work early, take care of all their 19 animals and bring her clothes and emotional support. After the doctor told her she would lose her hand (she didn’t, it fully recovered), Kyle said, “I always wanted to date a pirate.” At that moment, Allison realized she could not exist without him.
Engaged on 1/16/21, the proposal from Allison: We went to Sea Island, Georgia for my brother and new sister-in-laws “secret” wedding. They ended up getting married twice because of COVID. Anyways, so we go to Sea Island and Kyle had one job. That was to ask my Dad for permission to propose. During the day, all the guys went skeet shooting, which was the perfect opportunity to ask my Dad for permission. While he is holding a gun. Obviously, Kyle chickened out and did not ask. Later on that night, someone asked Kyle if he had asked and he said he had not. So he was encouraged to do it then, after the wedding and dinner, while we were hanging out in a library of the Cloistures. Kyle asks my Dad and in typical, Bushey-Basehore fashion, my Dad says “yes, but you have to ask her right now.” So Kyle proposes to me right then, with no ring or plan. After I said, yes, I still didn’t know if it was real or not!”
Now that they have finished planning Beach Plum Farm wedding, Allison’s dreams include children, hopefully two, one of which she’d love to adopt. They would like to travel and are excited to get out there and see the world. Kyle’s dreams include living a long, healthy life full of happiness and prosperity. Allison’s advice for couple’s currently planning is to remember that the day is about the two of you, so you should feature things that you both love to show who you are as a couple. They were most excited about their ceremony as Kyle’s uncle was their officiant, they also couldn’t wait to read their vows, to see how many times Allison’s father cried and to celebrate their love with their family and friends. These two honeymooned in Key West and were looking forward to living like Jimmy Buffett and couldn’t wait for sunshine and boat drinks 🙂 Thank you to Allison and Kyle for choosing me to photograph your beautiful Beach Plum Farm Wedding!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
