WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
July 31, 2019
A little over a week ago, I photographed Annie and Kiel’s Blue Heron Pines Golf Club Wedding in Egg Harbor City, NJ! Annie and Kiel were married on the hottest day of 2019, but you wouldn’t know it by their smiles and chemistry. These two as well as their families and bridal parties were troopers and we managed to capture stunning portraits while still staying cool – thank you to Blue Heron Pines Golf Club for all the shade! I am so excited to share this gorgeous Summer wedding.
Annie and Kiel met in college. They were both elementary education and psychology majors at the College of New Jersey where they had a few classes together and often saw one another at the gym, but they were never close. In 2013, they both attended the NJEA teachers convention in Atlantic City and ran into each other on a staircase as Kiel and his friend were going to the TCNJ alumni reception while Annie and her friend were leaving it. They had a short conversation on the stairs and soon after, Kiel got in touch and the rest is history!
For their first date, they met in Princeton for dinner at Winberries one Friday after school. Kiel says that he knew this was going to be something special when he asked her what her favorite band was and she said Mumford and Sons. Since then, they’ve gone to three Mumford concerts together. After that first date, Annie remembers going to her friend’s apartment in New Brunswick afterwards and telling her she had just had a date with a guy she really, really liked.
Engaged on 06/15/2017, the proposal from Annie, “We went out to dinner one night in Bordentown where we ended up buying our first home. There’s one spot where we always like to walk that overlooks the water. Kiel wanted to take a walk there after dinner, but I drank a lot of water at the restaurant, so I really wanted to go back to the apartment! Kiel insisted that we go take a walk and then I knew something was up. We started walking and his breathing got really heavy which was even more of a clue. He finally got down on one knee and told me why he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and then asked me to marry him. It was such a special moment shared between just the two of us.” Last December, I was lucky enough to meet these two for their engagement session, click to view my favorites from their Smithville Mansion session.
Annie and Kiel’s Blue Heron Pines Golf Club wedding was the perfect Summer day and their families played such an important role on their day. The day started at a nearby hotel and I loved every minute of capturing Annie getting ready for her special day. My favorite moment was when Annie’s mother helped with her veil and emotions were high. These two shared such a sweet moment before we headed to Blue Heron Pines Golf Club for the first look. Once Annie and Kiel had their emotional first look, it was time for portraits all over the grounds of the venue! As mentioned, we had such a hot day, but you would never know in these photos. Everyone was such troopers and when these two look back at their photos, you’ll never know it was over 100 degrees! Their ceremony was short and sweet and as soon as they said “I do”, it was time to party! This group never left the dance floor and from soccer chants to Dancing Queen sing alongs, I enjoyed every minute of their Blue Heron Pines reception!
Now that these two are finished planning their Summer wedding at Blue Heron Pines Golf Club, they are currently honeymooning in Italy and then will head to Croatia for sailing trip! Now married, their dream is to have children and to eventually get a dog.
Thank you to Annie and Kiel for allowing me to photograph your Blue Heron Pines Golf Club wedding!
