WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
June 16, 2021
A little over a week ago, I photographed Marissa and Rick’s Camden County Boathouse Wedding in Pennsauken, NJ. College sweethearts, Marissa and Rick had a traditional ceremony at the Church of the Incarnation in Mantua, NJ followed by a modern and rustic reception with a rose quartz and navy color palette!
Marissa and Rick first met in college at Gwynedd Mercy University through friends and their first date was at Texas Roadhouse on May 17th, 2016. Rick first knew she was the one at her college graduation in May of 2017, she was wearing a white dress and looked absolutely beautiful, but it was a monsoon that day and it could have easily ruined her graduation, but Marissa’s big smile and positive attitude showed him they could get through anything in life. Marissa doesn’t know specifically when she knew he was the one, but during their first year of dating she was in X-ray school and they did not live in the same state, so they could only see each other on weekends. While in school, she was stressed a majority of the time and Rick was always there to support and calm her down. Talking and seeing him made everything better.
Engaged on 11/02/2019, the proposal from Marissa: “On November 2nd, Rick, his brother Mike, his girlfriend Mikaela and I went to William Heritage Winery. When we got there, Mikaela said that she would like to take a picture in the orchard before we went to sit down at the winery. Once at the orchards, Mike and Mikaela took a picture first, then asked us if we would like to take a picture. Of course we said yes, and after taking the first picture, Rick went down on one knee. That’s when I saw something running at us and it was our family friend who is also a photographer. That’s where I black out and forget what Rick said. Obviously I said yes. After the excitement and a couple more pictures, we started walking toward the winery. We entered the back side of the winery, where close to 50 family members and friends were waiting to surprise and congratulate us!! Once we drank some delicious wine and took even more pictures we headed back to our house where there was decorations and tons of food. We partied the rest of the night with friends.” Last Summer, I was able to capture their their Corson’s Inlet engagement session!
Rick was most excited to see Marissa walk down the aisle and for the party after, Marissa was most excited to marry her best friend and to make a ton of memories with family and friends. Now married, their dream is growing old together. They would like 2-3 kids and something that excites them is being able to see the qualities they love about one another in their future children. These two are currently on an amazing 10 day honeymoon in Hawaii!
Thank you to Marissa and Rick for allowing me to photograph your beautiful Camden County Boathouse wedding!
