On October 7th, I photographed Cassidy and Dan’s Fall Wedding at Atlantic City Country Club in Northfield, NJ. For their Fall wedding day, they had a color palette of terracotta which complimented their day perfectly. Their picture perfect day began in ACCC’s bridal suite before heading to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Absecon, NJ for a traditional church ceremony followed by sweet photos with their pup, Sammy! After we arrived back at ACCC we captured stunning portraits of the bride and groom with their family and bridal party before their romantic couple photos. Once portraits were complete, it was time to party and this group did not disappoint on the dance floor! I had so much capturing them at their Fall Wedding at Atlantic City Country Club!
Cassidy and Dan attended high school together at Holy Spirit High School in Absecon. Dan first noticed her their freshman year when they took history class together — one thing Dan says he remembers about her is her green LG enV phone. Not many people had the green enVs! Even though they had been in school together for years, they didn’t start dating until their senior year. They had friends in common, and first started texting casually and hanging out at parties. After a few months, they finally went on their first date.
That first date was on a Sunday night during the winter. Cassidy was volunteering for the school’s Pre-Prom Fashion Show, and after rehearsals that night Dan picked her up in his white 1995 Ford Ranger. They went to Calabria’s Pizzeria & Italian Grille in Absecon, where they each ordered a slice of plain pizza. Both nervous and excited, they each only ate half of their slices and spent the rest of the time talking. Afterwards, they went on a drive through Dan’s hometown and stopped at his friend’s house to meet his friends. Then they drove around some more and talked the night away — it was the perfect first date!
Cassidy knew Dan was the one after they had been dating for almost a year, and had gone on a weekend getaway to New York City. The entire drive up they talked about what their individual life goals were – family, career, personal goals, places they wanted to travel to, etc. They had so much in common in their life plans that she started to realistically think about what life would be like together and to share those life plans together. Thinking about them going through life together tackling their career goals, having a family together, visiting and experiencing new places together, it gave her butterflies and it made her so happy. At that point, she couldn’t imagine life’s plan without Dan in it.
The proposal from Dan: “I had this whole thing planned to propose in Key West at sunset. I had just bought a beautiful ring that I had been playing hot potato with (I just wanted to give it to her as soon as possible!) but I didn’t factor for Key West traffic, and ended up getting there that night. We walked the streets of Old Town Key West, admiring the historical houses, and listening to live bands playing at local hotels and bars. We walked down one street where there were strings of lights over the road, from one side of the street through the other, and I stopped us in front of a flower wall where I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. I am pretty sure I damn near passed out! It was amazing!”
When Cassidy and Dan weren’t planning their Fall Wedding at Atlantic City Country Club, they love to run errands together. Cassidy says she knows it sounds silly, but it’s just a simple thing they do just to spend that extra time together. They disconnect from their phones, there’s so distractions from a TV, and they just talk and laugh walking around stores and enjoying their time together.
Now married, Dan says his dreams are abundant with Cassidy. He see them continuing to build. She just started her career in the police force and he cannot wait to raise a family with her. They always dream of a home with some land for the pups to roam and the kids to play with an in-ground pool and plenty of reasons to host friends and family. He can’t wait to build a life with Cassidy. Their advice for couple’s currently planning is to have fun and don’t sweat the small stuff! Planning a wedding can be stressful at times because you want to make everything perfect; but life isn’t perfect and you have to be okay with things not going exactly according to plan. It’s all a part of your story together, and just have fun with it because being engaged and planning a wedding is such an enjoyable and memorable time. It all goes by so fast, and you can’t stress if you don’t have certain things done in time. Everything comes together in the end, and all that matters is the two of you celebrating your love together with your closest family and friends – everything else is just extra!
Dan couldn’t wait to see Cassidy, he said he heard GREAT things about her dress and ever since senior prom, she does not disappoint in a dress! He knew she was going to look stunning and being the guy she is walking towards at the end of the aisle, will truly be an honor.
Thank you to Cassidy and Dan for choosing me to photograph your Fall Wedding at Atlantic City Country Club!
