Last weekend, I photographed Delphine and Peter’s Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm wedding in Holicong, PA. They had a romantic and elegant outdoor wedding with a color palette of light blue and navy, they had a beautiful ceremony on the lawn followed by an intimate tent reception, I am so excited to share their Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm wedding!
Delphine and Peter first met in October 2014 at Penn State when she was a sophomore and Peter was a senior. Although they were both in different times of their lives and Peter was getting ready to graduate, they were lucky enough to share mutual friends. It was a typical Friday night at Penn State, Peter was hanging out with friends and Delphine was planning on staying in for a quiet night; however, with enough convincing from friends, she decided to get dressed up and have a fun night out. That was the night they met, but it was really until the song ‘Love Story’ by Taylor Swift was playing; their eyes met and from that moment on, they were inseparable.
Their first date was the same week they met. Neither had classes on that Friday afternoon, so they met at Noodles in State College. After lunch, they spent the rest of the day together talking and getting to know one other.
Engaged on 05/02/2019, the proposal from Delphine: “Peter proposed on a Thursday afternoon in our apartment. I was busy at school presenting a project and Peter was “doing things.” I knew something was up when he was being really vague about what he was doing that morning. However, I did not think too much of it because it was a random Thursday and I had an exam the next day. I was wrong. I came home and Peter called me over to help him with something, and there he was, on one knee! I was totally caught by surprise and as Peter started telling me how much he loved me, I guess I cut him off and just hugged and kissed him in excitement; he said that was OK because he felt like he lost his ability to speak as he was so nervous/ excited. Shortly after, we celebrated just the two of us at a French restaurant near where we live.” Last September, exactly one year before their Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm wedding, I photographed their engagement session at Longwood Gardens!
Delphine and Peter had a romantic and elegant wedding at the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm, a rural bed and breakfast located in Holicong, PA. While they originally had planned for an indoor reception, the reception was moved to a tent on the property and it was flawless! Their picture perfect day had the most perfect Fall weather, you couldn’t have asked for a better day for a full outdoor wedding. The day started with Delphine and her bridesmaids getting ready in the ballroom and dressed in the bridal suite in the main house. I loved capturing an excited Delphine who was the most classic and stunning bride!
After both Delphine and Peter were dressed, we used every inch of the grounds for first look, couple, bridal party and family photos. The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm offers so many unique backdrops, I adored photographing my happy couple on the lush countryside with picturesque gardens, I also loved capturing them against the rustic backdrops of the venue! After their short and sweet ceremony, I was able to capture a few just married photos of my bride and groom at golden hour.
Once it was time for their outdoor tented reception, my couple had a romantic first dance, followed by sweet and hilarious speeches and a lively dance floor! I enjoyed capturing every moment of Delphine and Peter’s Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm wedding!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
