WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
October 31, 2019
Last weekend, I photographed Kim and Tim’s spooky Halloween themed wedding at Kings Mills in Media, PA! Kim and Tim had a beautiful Fall day with peak foliage for their October wedding. We captured gorgeous portraits on the grounds of Kings Mills and Taylor Arboretum, they had an outdoor evening ceremony followed by a reception where the stone walls of the venue fit their theme perfectly. I am so excited to share this Kings Mills wedding!
Kim and Tim met in college, they had the same major and they met in a psychology class during a summer session when they sat next to each other on the first day. On their first date, they watched American History X at his parents house as a school project. Kim knew Tim was the one when she felt like she could reveal her true self to him without question or judgement. He has always been open and accepting and that is one of her favorite things about him.
Engaged on 2/11/17, the proposal from Kim: “I was pregnant and we were having our gender reveal party with close family and friends. We got a cake, and the inside of the cake was supposed to be pink or blue depending on what the baby was. I cut into the cake and it was plain vanilla and I was so confused, and to be honest I was angry and upset because I thought the bakery messed up or forgot what they were supposed to do. We already had to wait a week to find out. The cake had this paper off to the side and when I opened it it said “will you marry me?” And I turned around and Tim was on one knee and everyone gasped. It was a total surprise. Turns out, that was a fake cake and Tims brother Liam brought in another cake that actually had the color inside. I was stunned.” I have been lucky enough to capture Kim and Tim over the last few years, not only were they members of two bridal parties that I have photographed, but I also captured their maternity session in 2017 and their engagement session in 2018, both at Longwood Gardens!
Last weekend, I photographed Kim and Tim’s spooky Halloween themed wedding at Kings Mills in Media, PA! These two had a unique and edgy day with a color palette of black, white, burnt orange, and purple and each and every detail fit their spooky theme perfectly. Their Kings Mills wedding started at Kim’s mother’s home before we headed to Kings Mills for the first look. Kim thought about every single detail for her day and her goth details featured the Nightmare Before Christmas Vans, skull earrings, black bridesmaid dresses and smokey eyes and a purple lipstick on my bride!
Once at Kings Mills in Media, PA for the first look, I was in awe of the beauty of the venue, the foliage was perfect and it looked gorgeous against the beautiful waterfall in the background. We did their first look in front of the rustic wood door and then used the rest of the grounds for couple and bridal party photos, although Kim and Tim’s 2.5 year old daughter, Juliana certainly stole the show! After portraits were complete at King’s Mills, we drove to the Taylor Arboretum of Widener University for a few more portraits before it was time for Tim and Kim to say “I do”.
Their goth themed wedding continued with an intimate and low light ceremony outside after the sun had set. They said their vows and exchanged rings in front of the dark wood doors before joining their guests for a fun reception where the stone walls of Kings Mills fit their theme perfectly. Thank you to Kim and Tim for allowing me to photograph your beautiful day.
Now that these two are finished planning their Halloween themed Kings Mills wedding, they are currently honeymooning in Disney! Now married, they cannot wait to continue watching their daughter, Juliana grow up and possibly adding more children to their family.
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
