Krystal and Justin’s Vail, Colorado wedding

Over Labor Day weekend, I had the honor of photographing Krystal and Justin’s Vail, Colorado wedding. I have known Krystal since we were in middle school, so I was incredibly honored when she asked me to fly all the way to Colorado to photograph her wedding!

The day started at the Antlers Hotel in Vail. The girls were busy getting hair and makeup done, all against the backdrop of a breathtaking town. I got some gorgeous shots showcasing the excitement of the day, which was easy – everyone was in a great mood and you could tell it was going to be a perfect day.

Piney River Ranch was located about 45 minutes up the mountain, at an elevation of 9350 feet! I have never seen such a beautiful venue and loved using the lake, mountains, and sky as a backdrop for their photos. After the first look, we did just that and walked all over the resort finding the best spots for photos.

Their ceremony was short and sweet and overlooked the picturesque mountain and lake. Our bride was emotional as her father walked her down the aisle. I loved their vows and once again the backdrop made these some of my favorite ceremony photos of all time!

After the ceremony was complete, I was able to steal our bride and groom away for a few more photos on the lake. I loved how adventurous they were and wish every couple would hop in a boat for photos. 🙂

Once the reception began, Krystal and Justin had a fun introduction, followed by a sweet first dance and then parent dances. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room while Krystal danced with her dad and Justin danced with his mother!

Their reception was one of the most fun of the year. Once the party started, it did not end. Guests danced nonstop, only taking brief breaks to dine on s’mores. Just before sunset, I was able to sneak the happy couple away for a few more photo with the gorgeous golden hour light.
