WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
March 7, 2018
Last December, I photographed Stacy and Mike’s snowy Laurita Winery engagement session! Laurita Winery, located in New Egypt, NJ is one of my favorite places in New Jersey to photograph a session! So far, I have been fortunate enough to shoot a wedding here (click here to view Ashley & Matt’s rustic chic wedding) and now finally an engagement session!
Mike and Stacy first met at a local bar in April of 2014. Stacy was out for her best friend’s birthday, the girls had invited some friends to join and Mike happened to tag along with those friends! They started talking that night and have not gone a single day without talking since. Their first date happened to be at the same bar the next evening. The bar was giving away XTU tickets which Mike wanted to win, not only did they win tickets but they had a successful first date!
Stacy never believed in love at first site until she met Mike. From Stacy: “That same night at the ticket run, there was a little girl that was with her mother and she was so excited to be there and win tickets. The little girl and her mother did not have a place to sit and Mike instantly invited them to our table to sit down with us and they were so grateful. We all talked that whole night. From that moment on, everyday that we spent together, I learned that Mike was not only the most giving guy, he was the most caring and loving guy I have ever met. In addition, a couple months after we started officially dating, Mike went on a deployment. We had to quickly learn how to communicate and be apart from one another. Like they always say, distance definitely makes the heart grow fonder. During that time that he was away, I was in graduate school and always stressed out. He always walked me through it and reminded me that I can get through it. I will always be thankful of that.”
Engaged on 11/23/17, the proposal from Stacy: “Mike and I got engaged on Thanksgiving. I was getting ready to go meet the family for Thanksgiving dinner. I heard Mike go out to the car to grab something. I came around the corner to go find out what he was doing and he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was beyond shocked and so happy. It was very private and I will cherish that moment forever. My family knew it was happening so it was pretty cool that my whole family was there to celebrate after.”
These two are planning a November 2018 wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club and when they are not planning their modern and classic wedding with a little touch of rustic, they enjoy spending as much time together as possible. They enjoy going out to different restaurants, camping, going to breweries, and hanging out with friends and family. Every summer they spend a week in OCMD which has turned into a fun tradition that they look forward to every year. Their dreams for their future is to stay happy and healthy. They would love to travel and work on their home together. After they travel a bit, they plan on settling down and having children.
Any advice for future bride’s planning?
My advice for a future bride is to give yourself plenty of time and enjoy every second. Focus on yourself and your fiance and what you envision for yourself for the big day and don’t look back. Do your research and leave yourself plenty of time so you are not stressed and can enjoy the time planning.
And finally, what are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
What i am looking forward to most is that i get to finally marry my best friend. I am also so excited to spend the day celebrating with our families and closest friends.
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
