Jillian and Dominic’s October wedding at Linwood Country Club in Linwood, NJ was the perfect blend of rustic boho charm and heartfelt family moments. Their day was filled with warm autumn tones with a burnt orange, sage green, and creamy neutral color palette that beautifully complemented the fall setting. The celebration began with a traditional church ceremony at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Ventnor City, NJ and since the church was just a block from the beach, we couldn’t resist stopping for portraits by the shore! The soft ocean breeze, golden light, and quiet sand made for the most romantic Jersey Shore wedding photos, a nod to a place that means so much to them.
Once we arrived at Linwood Country Club, the rustic boho aesthetic came to life with elegant décor, natural textures, and warm, glowing light. Family played such an important role throughout the day, Jill’s nieces and nephews were part of every moment, from walking down the aisle to tearing up the dance floor later that night. And speaking of the dance floor – Jill and Dom never left it! The joy, laughter, and energy carried through the entire evening, making it a night to remember.
Jill & Dom met through a mutual friend and knew of one another for a few years before they officially met at a country concert tailgate in 2015. They had their first date on October 22, 2017. They went to PJ Whelihan’s for dinner and drinks. Afterwards, they went to Washington Lake Park and walked around getting to know each other, followed by playing basketball on the courts.
Engaged on 03/09/2024, the proposal from Jill: “On the morning of March 9th, my sister Facetimed me asking if Dom and I wanted to meet her and my parents at the park with her four kids. My sister said that even though it wasn’t that nice out, they were still going because she already promised the oldest one and wanted to get out of the house (little did I know this was all part of the plan). I asked Dom if he wanted to go, knowing it wasn’t that nice out and he said sure. I put on my leggings, sneakers, and rain coat and out the door we went. As we are pulling up to the park, I see all my nieces and nephews jumping up and down chanting our names. I still didn’t think anything of it because they do things like that on a daily basis. It wasn’t until I heard “Love Story” by Taylor Swift playing, and I got close enough to read the kids shirts to realize what was about to happen. Between the four kids they each had a shirt on that said “Will You Marry Uncle Dom?”, when I turned around Dom was down on one knee. I didn’t think I smiled as big as I did when I turned around. We got to enjoy that moment together at the place we had our first date all those years ago. Afterwards, we drove down to Dominic’s parents house where it was all decorated for us and we got to celebrate with both of our families. It was a perfect day!”
When Dominic, a marketing supervisor in Atlantic City and Jill, an elementary school counselor weren’t planning their Linwood Country Club wedding, they love sports. They may not like all the same teams, but they enjoy watching sports together and going to games. Some of their favorite nights are the spur of the moment weekday Sixers games they attend. They also love spending time down the shore in North Wildwood and when they are not down the shore, they are most likely at Jill’s sister’s house with her parents playing with the kids and having a game night! Now married, they would love to have two kids. As a family, they can’t wait to go on vacations and one day when the kids are older, they’d like to get a family dog.
Their advice for couples currently planning is to enjoy the planning process! You only get this level of excitement once in your life, so make the best of it and make it fun. During the planning process, they would have coffee dates at Starbucks with Jill’s mom and sister to talk about things and would make a day out of it. Also, make time to sit with your fiancé and talk. Sure, there are times to be serious, but again, remember to have fun along the way.
Jill and Dominic were both so excited to celebrate their love with all of their closest friends and family! Thank you for choosing me to photograph your stunning Linwood Country Club wedding!
