WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
August 25, 2024
On August 16th, I photographed Heather and Gain’s Mansion on Main Street Wedding in Voorhees NJ. Heather and Gian had a modern and classic Summer wedding with a color palette of dusty blue. They had a joyful and fun day filled with surprises for their guests and families!
Heather and Gain met through Heather’s sister Ashley and her now husband, Ryan. Heather, Ashley and Ryan all grew up as neighbors in Jackson, NJ and Heather and Ryan were best friends (she even set up Ashley and Ryan as a couple). Ryan and Gian met in school together when they both studied votech. Fast forward a few years later, Ryan introduced Gian to Heather. They began talking for a couple months and went on a double date with Ashley and Ryan in October of 2015 at Applebees. Shortly after, Gian and Heather would always hang out in Point Pleasant and that is where they had their first solo date. Point Pleasant became their place to meet up and they would walk the jetty’s and boardwalk and talk and laugh.
Engaged on 09/25/2022, the proposal from Heather: “I love surprises. So Gian would always plan surprise dates for us. So when he randomly told me one day to dress nice for a date, I didn’t raise an eyebrow as that was pretty normal for us. I recently told him I would love to go to a hot air balloon festival, so I thought for sure that was where we were going. After getting all ready for the date, we hop in the car and start driving but I quickly realized we weren’t going west where all the festivals were. Within minutes I realized we were heading into Point Pleasant so I thought we were getting a nice dinner until we stopped at our go to hibachi restaurant for take out. During the pandemic, we would get take out hibachi and have a picnic on the beach as we watched the waves crash along the shore. Once we picked up our take out hibachi I figured the beach was where we were headed. Sure enough we drove to the same beach where we used to walk along when we first met and had our hibachi in our hand. As we walk onto the beach in the distance I see is a boho beach picnic with flowers making a path, a blanket and pillows and pictures all over from Gian and I over the years. As I look at all the details, Gian spins me towards him and drops to one knee. He tells me all the reasons why he loves me with tears falling down his cheeks and at the end he asked me if I would marry him. Easiest yes I have ever had to say! But moments later a dark cloud rolled in and it began to down pour (they say it’s good luck!), we quickly ran back to the car for shelter while we waited for it to pass. About 10 minutes later, the sun came back out and we saw a beautiful double rainbow. While we were at the beach, my whole family and Gian’s family were waiting back at my sister’s house where I was greeted by another surprise with both families coming together to celebrate our newest milestone.”
When Heather and Gian weren’t planning their Mansion on Main Street wedding, they love to do everything together. They are both so adventurous and love to do new things. They even bought the adventure challenge book to always find new challenges and date ideas. They are both competitive so they love playing games, going to the fields to play sports and games (softball, soccer, football, spike ball, corn hole, etc.), they also love to go on hikes or just go to the movies. Gian got Heather into all the Marvel movies so they are often at the movie theatre catching the latest movie that is playing. They also love Summer and going out on the jet ski, water tubbing, and crabbing off the docks.
Now married, Heather says they will always want to continue traveling, she doesn’t think that will ever change however it may look different in the future as they would love to have children of their own. Heather says that her grandparents on both sides have set a beautiful example of what a marriage and family is all about and she would love to continue all those traditions and keep growing from there. Their advice for couples currently planning their wedding is to do what you and your partner want. There will always be stress and drama and it’s not always easy navigating but always make a decision based off you and your partners wants. She also says to book your vendors first and all the little details will fall into place!
Heather and Gian were most looking forward having their venue full of all their favorite people who came together to celebrate a day full of her and Gian. They love parties so they hoped it would be special and fun for all of their guests. Thank you to Heather and Gian for choosing me to photograph for your Mansion on Main Street wedding!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
