Last Summer, I was this gorgeous family’s Maternity and Newborn Photographer when I photographed both of their sessions in Moorestown, NJ

Alyssa’s maternity session was photographed at one of my favorite locations in Moorestown and I love this location because of the tall grass and summer flowers, the stone building and of course, the gorgeous sunsets! And not only is it picturesque, but it’s minutes from my Moorestown studio 🙂 This session was filled with golden hour magic, the sun’s warm glow created a dreamy atmosphere and the golden light enhanced Alyssa’s natural beauty, giving the photos a soft and flattering feel. Alyssa did a great job with her dress – and every expecting mama should follow what she did for their Summer maternity session. She chose a light, flowy dress that not only kept her cool but helped elevate her maternity session!

Here are a few Tips for Your Summer Maternity Session:

Choose a time of day when the sun is softer, this is another reason I love golden hour.
Wear a light, breathable and airy dress to stay comfortable in the heat, but also choose one that showcases your bump.
Consider natural elements like flowers, water, or fields for an outdoor shoot.
Include your spouse and children!

Once August arrived, I was so excited to meet newborn Molly. I love photographing newborn sessions as I love to capture the precious moments of those first days, filled with sweet snuggles, tiny features, and peaceful expressions. For this session, we focused on a soothing color palette of green which is an ideal choice for newborn photos. The soft, pastel greens used in this session created a calming atmosphere that reflected the peacefulness of a new life. From hunger green to sage green, each shade helped highlight the delicate features of this sweet baby girl, giving the images a timeless and organic feel. I love how green works perfectly with white, cream, and other neutrals such as brown, allowing the colors to blend seamlessly for a soft, dreamy aesthetic.

A newborn session is not just about capturing the baby alone but also celebrating the family’s love and joy. In this session, Molly’s proud parents were included in a few photos with their newborn daughter before I photographed her solo. Molly is with me for her entire first year, so her collection included the maternity and newborn sessions as well as two milestone sessions (tummy time and sitter) and her 1st birthday cake smash session. I cannot wait to continue to watch her grow and to see what her mom and dad choose as the theme for her cake smash session!
