Smithville Inn Wedding | Galloway, NJ | Kelly & Will

On April 13th, I photographed Kelly and Will’s Smithville Inn Wedding in Galloway, NJ. Their wedding was romantic and had a slightly rustic feel with a few classic elements. They love color, and the day had a color platte of various shades of blue with brightly colored wildflowers. Their wedding day began at the Colonial Inn for both and once they were dressed, they had a first look in front of the carousel followed by the two of them reading their personal vows. One of my favorite moments of their portrait session was when their husky, Nanuk arrived for a few portraits. He was even walked down the aisle during their ceremony by the best man and howled throughout! Their ceremony was highly personal with the bride’s father as the officiant, a sweet speech by the groom’s mother and a shot of whiskey to seal their marriage. Once the ceremony was complete, my happy couple danced all night and I was happy to capture it! Congratulations to Kelly and Will!

Kelly and Will first met on the Hinge dating app, when Will accidentally set his location to Atlantic City, which is the area Kelly lived in at the time. Because of this, for the first few months of their relationship, they were each commuting one hour to spend time together. On their first date, Kelly revealed that she hadn’t really watched many Marvel movies, Will insisted that they watch them all together, in chronological order!

Kelly knew Will was the one when her dog, Nanuk, liked him more than he liked her. Will knew Kelly was the one after they had spent a lot of time together during the pandemic, he just loved being with her and she made him really happy.

Engaged on 11/14/2021, the proposal: They were engaged in November of 2021 in their living room, and then spent the day at Longwood Gardens, walking the grounds and having a celebratory lunch at 1906! Will’s original plan was to propose at
the end of the day, but Kelly was too impatient and insisted that they start the day off engaged!

When Kelly and Will weren’t planning their Smithville Inn wedding, they love to play games and watch movies, and attend live sporting events together. Now married, their dreams include traveling, they would love to explore new places together and they would love to plan and complete home projects together.

Their advice for couple’s currently planning their wedding is to take breaks, and if possible, take your time when planning. Kelly and Will would make a few decisions, and then step back and enjoy their lives for a bit before revisiting planning, which kept it low stress and fun! And trust your vision! On the day of their Smithville Inn wedding, they were most looking forward to marrying each other 🙂

Following their Smithville Inn wedding, they took a mini moon to Cape May! Thank you to Kelly and Will for choosing me to photograph your beautiful Spring wedding!
