Spring Wedding at ICONA Windrift | Avalon, NJ | Erica & Garrett

Last weekend, I photographed Erica and Garrett’s Spring Wedding at ICONA Windrift in Avalon, NJ. They had a classic and elegant Jersey Shore wedding that had the perfect coastal color palette of eucalyptus green, white flowers with greenery with a touch of blue mixed into the details. Their day began in the hotel and my beautiful bride had the perfect dress, gorgeous hair and makeup and the sweetest first look with her bridesmaids and father. Once it was time for the bride and groom’s first look on the beach, my excited couple finally got to see one another and then read their heartfelt personal vows before we used the beach for romantic couple portraits, fun bridal party group photos and sweet family photos. Once it was time for their ceremony, they exchanged vows on the beach and then partied the night away, these two never left the dance floor and I had so much capturing them!

Erica & Garrett met through the dating app, Hinge. Erica says she is so glad they both swiped right! Since they met during the pandemic, they had to get creative for their first date. They live in the Washington DC area, and because of the pandemic, bars were serving door to-go drinks so they went for a walk through Meridian Hill Park and got to-go Margaritas. They had so much fun! Erica says that there wasn’t a specific moment where she knew Garrett was the one, but with each date they kept getting closer and closer and fell in love pretty quickly!

Engaged on 12/17/2022, the proposal: “Garret proposed to me in Georgetown – he was persistent of showing me the view (a view that we see a lot, ha!) but he really wanted to go look at the view that day. He got down on one knee at the waterfront and asked me to marry him!”

When Erica and Garrett weren’t planning their Spring Wedding at ICONA Windrift, they enjoy spending their time together. They enjoy taking walks, hiking, going to coffee shops and being social! They have a lot of mutual friends and love to go out to dinner and drinks with friends in the DC area, Garrett loves sports so Erica will tag along!

Now married their dreams include moving into a new home, growing old together, traveling, and having children and pets one day. Their advice for couples currently planning their wedding is to enjoy the process! And finally, they were most looking forward to their first look and private vow reading, having all of their most special friends and family in one place, and dancing the night away!
