Summer Wedding at Renault Winery | Egg Harbor City, NJ | Katie & Jake

Last weekend, I photographed Katie and Jake’s Summer Wedding at Renault Winery in their gorgeous outdoor Pavilion. My happy couple had a rustic outdoor tented wedding and the images from their day give me the biggest smile as Katie was one of my happiest brides and her smile never left her face! We had a very hot day, but you would never know! These two just oozed happiness 🙂

Katie and Jake met their junior year of high school in study hall. They were friends first, so they did not have an official first date, but Jake did ask Katie to be his girlfriend in the most special way. She went over to his house and he had roses laid out throughout the house leading to him in the backyard, each rose had a tag with something he liked about Katie and he was holding the last rose that said “will you be my girlfriend?”!

Katie knew Jake was the one because they were friends for a few years first. He is so kind and was friends with people from all different social groups which she loved about him. Once they actually started dating he was so good to her and that never let up.

Engaged 04/30/2021, the proposal from Katie: “Jake came home from traveling from a work trip, I was outside pulling weeds all day and had on old dirty shorts and a t-shirt, and hasn’t showered yet, I met him at the front door with our dog, Pepper to greet him and he completely shocked me with roses and got down on one knee. Once I said yes he had a big glass of whiskey and he said his nerves were shot!”

When Katie and Jake weren’t planning their Summer Wedding at Renault Winery, they love watching movies, going out to eat, kayaking and renovating their home. Now married, their dreams include continuing to travel, they love exploring new cities and national/state parks. They definitely want children and they plan to continue renovating their forever home.

Their advice for couple’s currently planning is to get as much done as you can early on because the last two weeks are filled with so much to do. Anything you can do early will help lighten the load! Katie was most excited to walk down the aisle and see him at the end with all their friends and family in between.

These two are currently honeymooning in Texas! They are visiting Austin, San Antonio and Waco and they plan to hike at the parks plus trying new restaurants and fun spots in Texas. Thank you to Katie and Jake for choosing me to photograph your Summer Wedding at Renault Winery!
