Tomasello Winery Wedding | Hammonton, NJ | Shawnee & Anthony

Last weekend, I photographed Shawnee and Anthony’s Tomasello Winery wedding in Hammonton, NJ. Shawnee and Anthony had a perfectly sunny day for their music themed wedding and I absolutely adored photographing these two! Shawnee and Anthony chose June 8th as their wedding date because the date is filled with so much meaning to them. They had their first date on June 8, 2017, they were engaged on June 8, 2018 and now married on June 8, 2019.

Shawnee and Anthony first met in 2016 at Spencer Gifts corporate office where they both work. Anthony knew of Shawnee before she knew of him. In July 2016 Spencer’s held their first-ever “Battle of the Bands” after work, and Shawnee, a talented musician was one of the acts. He watched her perform from the cafeteria, turned to his friend and said, “I’m in love with this girl.” but it wasn’t until almost a year later that she actually met Anthony at one of the water fountains. He made fun of her hair and the rest is history.

It had only been one week of them casually chatting via text and in the hallways at work when Shawnee realized she didn’t want to wait for him to ask her out, so she asked him by texting him, “take me on a date.” He took her to the Ocean City boardwalk, where they played a round of mini golf, ate banana whip and curly fries, and took a walk on the beach where they had their first kiss. After their beach stroll, they rode the Ferris wheel and have been together every day since.

Engaged on 06/08/2018, the proposal from Shawnee: “We decided to re-live our first date on our one year anniversary. We went back to the Ocean City Boardwalk and did everything all over again. We played a round of miniature golf, ate banana whip and curly fries and took a walk on the beach. Anthony took me to the place where we had our first kiss, and that’s where he proposed.” Click here to view their engagement session!

Shawnee and Anthony had a music theme for their Tomasello Winery wedding and my rock ‘n roll couple incorporated their love of music into nearly every detail. Their ring box was shaped like a guitar pick, the invitations were designed as an old cassette tape and musical notes were found on everything from the bride’s hanger to the boutonniere’s. The musical details did not stop there, for their Tomasello Winery wedding ceremony, they had “all access passes” as their ceremony programs and the aisles were lined with records. And for their reception, band references were everywhere from their table numbers to the specialty cocktails! And their sweetheart table was decorated with records and their guitars and finally, their cake had adorable music notes all over.

Shawnee and Anthony planned such a unique wedding at their Tomasello Winery wedding and my most favorite detail of the day was the gorgeous headpiece Shawnee wore on her forehead. Another detail I loved was that every single member of the bridal party, including the bride wore Vans! I absolutely loved that Shawnee and Anthony thought about every single detail for their day and personalized it all to fit their personalities.

My favorite part of their Tomasello Winery wedding was the ceremony, their family played a huge role in their ceremony, Anthony’s brother was best man, the best man’s fiancé and son were the flower “girl” and ring bearer, their personal ceremony was officiated by the bride’s brother, there was a reading by the bride’s sister in law, and Shawnee and Anthony each had personal vows that they read to one another. During their vows, there was not a dry eye in the audience as they read their words to one another. Before they had their first kiss as husband and wife, they shared a special hand shake!

Now that these two are married, they are looking forward to growing old together, traveling and playing more music.
