WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
September 11, 2019
Earlier this Summer, I photographed Kira and Jon’s Wildwood Crest engagement session. This session was so important to me as Kira was the wedding coordinator at the Southern Mansion, the venue I got married at back in 2016! We stayed in touch and when her and Jon became engaged, I was thrilled she asked me to be her wedding photographer!
Kira and Jon first met at his Mom’s 60th birthday bash – their families already knew each other but little did they know that when they met, they would hit it off so well! Their first date was shortly after at the Camden Aquarium. Kira and Jon lived in different states, she lived in New Jersey and he lived in Florida, but she knew then that it didn’t matter that they lived so far apart and they would make the long distance work.Kira knew Jon was the one because he made the effort to come visit every chance he could get, since she was a wedding planner working seven days a week, it was hard for her to travel to Florida. No matter what he made time to see her and make her feel special. Within six months of long distance dating, Kira knew she wanted to be with him everyday. She made the move to Florida after a year of long distance and never looked back!
Engaged on 10/20/2018, the proposal from Kira: “Just us and it was a beautiful walk on the beach at sunset where he knelt down with no one around us to tell me how much he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me! I was in awe and felt like I was glowing, the night went on with drinks and me telling every stranger we got engaged!”
Kira and Jon are planning a beachy and romantic wedding at the Windrift Hotel in Avalon next month! When they are not wedding planning, these huge rival football fans (Kira the Eagles and Jon the Patriots) are watching football together every Sunday. Once married, they hope to travel and they plan on focusing on their relationship as they find a newer bigger home. Children will be down the road but first and foremost they’d like to focus on being newlyweds.
Any advice for future bride’s planning?
Live in the moment and know you can not control everything – roll with whatever happens!
And finally, what are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
Marrying my best friend he has become to much more than my fiancé and soon to be husband, he is the man I lean on, love with all my heart and who means the world to me. I feel like the luckiest girl to wake up and fall asleep next to him everyday!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
