WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
January 5, 2018
On Saturday, I photographed Christina and Chris’ elegant William Penn Inn Wedding in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania. These two had a fresh snowfall on the ground and every single portrait we captured was truly breathtaking, I am so excited to share this gorgeous winter wedding! Growing up, Christina had always envisioned a fairy tale wedding, which she absolutely got. Everything tied in perfectly with a winter – Christmas – New Years theme.
Chris and Christina first met at work, she had been with the company for 10 years and he started about 5 years later. They were friends and she always felt a strong connection to him, finally that connection became stronger and they started hanging out more. I love that they share so many similarities and interests – not only do they share the same name but they also share the same birthday. Christina always knew he was the one, she says “He always made me feel like I could be myself around him. I feel safe and loved when I am with him and have always felt that way.” I first met Christina and Chris last February for their engagement session and I knew their William Penn Inn wedding would be incredible and I was right!
The proposal was on 11/18/16, from Christina: “One of my favorite Disney movies growing up was Beauty & the Beast. A few weeks before we got engaged, Disney released Beauty & the Beast from the vault and it was available to watch. I had been begging him to watch it for weeks. One night after work we planned a date night, we went to a small BYOB near our office and then headed home for a quiet night. He mentioned watching Beauty & the Beast and of course I jumped at the idea. We turned off all the lights, poured ourselves a glass of wine and watched the movie. He was so calm and cool, it just seemed like an ordinary night. Little did I know what really was going on in his head. After the movie, he went downstairs and when he came back up, he had the rose lit up in a glass case with the most beautiful ring inside, he got down on one knee and he asked me to marry him. It was my own little fairytale. It was the most amazing night and something I will never forget.”
I started the day at the Joseph Ambler Inn with Christina and her bridesmaids. The cottage we were in had perfect little rooms perfectly decorated for December and warm fireplaces that really helped make it feel like December. I loved all Christina’s ivory, white and silver details, but I especially loved her shawl she wore outside as well as the silver Adrianna Papell dresses she chose for her bridesmaids. Christina couldn’t wait for the moment they saw each other for the first time on the day of their William Penn Inn wedding. She had dreamed of snow for the engagement session, but instead we had an unusually warm day in February for it, so I was so happy for her that we had fresh snow on the ground. We had the first look at the Joseph Ambler Inn, which was one of the most stunning backdrops I had all year! I have always dreamed of a snowy wedding, but never got this lucky! Once we finished a few couple and then bridal party photos at Joseph Ambler, we headed to the William Penn Inn wedding for a few more photos before the ceremony. Their ceremony was incredibly personal and so sweet and was officiated by Christina’s uncle, who had so many sweet words to say about our couple. Once the reception began, their live band Sidearm rocked all night! My favorite part of the reception was when all the guests were handed umbrellas for the Mummers strut, perfectly fitting as this was New Years eve eve!
Now that these two are married, they are looking forward to starting a family as well as continuing traveling and experiencing new things together. Christina and Chris are off to Disney next week for a mini-moon and then will be enjoying their honeymoon in France this Spring!
