On September 26th, I photographed Romina and Michael’s Windows on the Water at Frogbridge wedding in Millstone, NJ. My happy couple had a romantic and bohemian wedding, these nature lovers planned an outdoor wedding with a ceremony surrounded by trees and a tented reception over looking the lake. I am so excited to share this stunning Windows on the Water at Frogbridge wedding!
Romina came to America as a sophomore in high school and Michael and Romina had the same Spanish class. Both being shy, they never really spoke other than a few times throughout high school. They reconnected years later and became best friends before they started officially dating in 2015. It’s hard to define a first date since they were best friends for awhile and would do everything together! But they always consider their first date as a NY Yankees game in July of 2015 and they have been going to one every year since then!
Romina knew Michael was the one within the first month of dating. They had been best friends for awhile and he made her a box for her birthday with all the things she always wanted to try and tickets to things she wanted to do. It was such a thoughtful gift and at that moment she knew how much he had listened to her for so long and she hoped that one day he would be her husband! 5 years later, he still gives her butterflies!
Engaged on 07/15/2019, the proposal from Romina: “Michael took me to Vegas as a birthday trip. He had planned every detail of the trip, even by staying in the hotel that looks like a castle (he always treated me like a princess). One night after a romantic “birthday” dinner, Michael got tickets to go on top of the Eiffel towel. He is terrified of heights, but he knew how much I wanted to go! Once we got to the top, a young man approached us asking if we wanted to see some magic trips. I love magic so I didn’t hesitate to agree. He did a few tricks for us and for the last trick, he had Michael in front of me where he asked him to put his hands together. When he finished the trick, a box appeared in Michael’s hands. He then kneeled and asked me to marry him! It had been set up for months and I had no idea!”
Their romantic and bohemian Windows on the Water at Frogbridge wedding had a color palette of white and dusty blue with the men in navy blue suits. Since Romina was young, she wanted her wedding to be outdoors since she’s really close to nature and loved the water aspect of their venue. Their ceremony was surrounded by beautiful willow trees and seeing the sun go down and the moon go up, was a dream come true.
Their day began on site, I loved capturing their stunning details, Romina even handmade all the invitations! As I arrived, her bridesmaids gifted Romina with a bottle of Tiffany perfume engraved with her initials. Once hair and maleup was complete, the bridesmaids and I headed outside to pop champagne before Romina dressed. After she was in her gown, she had a first look with Dad followed by a surprise gift from Michael to Romina right before their first look. She had no idea he was going to give her a gift and my sweet groom made a scrapbook of their entire relationship, between that and the card he wrote my emotional bride, it was the perfect way to get her ready for the first look with Michael!
Their ceremony was in the willow trees and was stunning! The sun was setting through the trees and it was the perfect backdrop for their vows, one of the moments Romina was most looking forward to was seeing Michael at the end of the aisle. After they said “I do”, guests rode on golf carts to their outdoor cocktail hour. My detail oriented bride who thought of every detail had a Taco Bell station at cocktail hour, blankets to keep her guests warm and beautiful signs throughout. Her florals were the perfect mix of their romantic and bohemian theme, they were filled with greenery, white garden roses, anemones and dusty blue accents, Bespoke Floral always does an amazing job on florals!
Their Windows on the Water at Frogbridge wedding reception was filled with speech speeches, a video of all the friends and family wishing my bride and groom well who could not make the wedding due to the pandemic and a surprise video by Tom Felton from Harry Potter, which complimented her “Whomping Willow” signature cocktail amazingly!
They are currently waiting for restrictions to change in the next month so see where they can travel, they would like their honeymoon to be on an island relaxing after this stressful year! Thank you to Romina and Michael for allowing me to photograph your outdoor Windows on the Water at Frogbridge wedding!
