WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
October 23, 2021
On October 10th, I photographed Kristi and Drew’s Jersey Shore wedding at the Windrift Hotel in Avalon, NJ! Kristi and Drew are one of my many 2020 couple’s who were forced to reschedule their wedding due to the pandemic. They were supposed to say “I do” on October 11, 2020 and the entire year wait was worth it!
There had been a threat of rain all day and the weather was very dramatic! We went from a morning where it was nonstop rain to a sunny afternoon for their first look and couple portraits to another quick period of rain, but it cleared up just in time for their beach ceremony, which is all my couple wanted.
Their golden retriever Fluery played a huge role in their, not only was he included in their couple portraits, but he walked down the aisle and stood alongside my bride and groom as they exchanged their vows. They even had a signature cocktail named after him!
Kristi and Drew met on their first day as new nurses working in the ER and their first date was on July 4th of that year, they went swimming and then watched the fireworks in downtown Pittsburgh. Drew says he knew Kristi was the one when she swept him off his feet by making buffalo chicken casserole! Kristi says it was when Drew had driven five hours from Pittsburgh to Philly with a 12 foot ladder so he could change her lightbulbs for her after having the flu.
Engaged on 05/18/2019, the proposal from Kristi: “Drew did a super impressive job coordinating all of the moving parts for what I thought was just a weekend at the beach. He made sure my aunt knew and my Dad and sister would be there the next day. The week of, he wanted to “practice flying the drone” which wasn’t suspicious since he often takes pictures with it at the beach. The day of, I (unknowingly) helped coordinate the proposal by suggesting we go to the north end of LBI to see the lighthouse to fly the drone. All was going smooth until we saw no drone signs everywhere. So we get out of the car and Drew is marching around the park with his tripod looking like he’s going to complete his last mission on earth. I wasn’t sure what was happening but eventually he put the tripod down to “focus” the camera so he could get some pictures of us. He ended up getting a great video recording of the entire proposal with a beautiful scenery.” Two years ago, I photographed their engagement session At Corinthian Yacht Club.
After two years of waiting for their special day, Kristi and Drew were most looking forward to being with friends and family at their favorite place! Thank you to Kristi and Drew for choosing me to photograph your Jersey Shore Wedding at the Windrift, I have never seen a couple make wind look so damn good! I hope you two are enjoying your Hawaiian honeymoon!
