WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
October 17, 2022
On October 8th, my team photographed Kelly and Steve’s Boathouse at Mercer Lake Wedding in West Windsor, NJ! Kelly and Steve had the perfect Fall day for their modern and elegant wedding, they had an outdoor ceremony on the lake followed by a lively dance floor for their fun reception!
Kelly and Steve first met at a bar in Seaside Heights during Memorial Day weekend in 2018. Their mom’s grew up and played soccer together but Kelly and Steve would only see each other at a local bar and were too nervous to talk to each other. That moment in Seaside, it was definitely love at first sight and they started dating about a month later. Their first “date” was at a nearby park in Lawrenceville. They met at the basketball courts and played basketball together. Kelly is very competitive so she won! This was about a week before he asked her to be his girlfriend.
Kelly knew Steve was the one from the very moment they spent time together in Seaside. His mom would say it was like a “static” connection and they did not want to leave each other’s side. After that they would meet at the park and talk for hours getting to know each other.
Engaged on 2/27/2021, the proposal from Kelly: “I went to a workout class earlier that day (later than expected). Steve already had a plan for my closest friends to come over and decorate our home. When I got home, I really wasn’t feeling like I wanted to go out and was tired from the workout, but he got me out of the house and took me to happy hour. When we left he took me a long way home, and I was so confused when we pulled in to Sayen Gardens. But then it clicked that the best moment of my life was about to happen! When he got down on one knee, my best friend (and MOH) jumped out with her camera! When we went back to the house, all of my closest friends were there and surprised me with an engagement party!”
Now that Kelly and Steve have finished planning their Boathouse at Mercer Lake wedding, they want to enjoy their marriage for a year, take a belated honeymoon, travel more and eventually expanding their family and having three children. Kelly and Steve both knew that this moment was going to eventually happen so the reality of being married is a dream come true. They were both looking forward to a super fun and perfect day and night with their family and friends. Their advice to couple’s currently planning their wedding is to enjoy every second and don’t stress! Kelly has a planning personality so she liked booking everything far in advance.
Thank you to Kelly and Steve for choosing my team to photograph your Boathouse at Mercer Lake Wedding!
