Last weekend, I photographed Teresa and Kevin’s Summer Wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club in Williamstown, NJ! My sweet couple had a beautiful day with a traditional church ceremony at Our Lady of Hope Parish in Blackwood, NJ that had the most stunning florals I have ever seen in a church! The aisle was lined with candles and greenery and it was the perfect backdrop to catch my happy and excited couple walking down the aisle. Their sweet ceremony was followed by a fun bubble exit, lovely details and florals at Scotland Run and perfect lighting for their couple portraits. They thought of every detail and everything they did was meaningful – a choreographed first dance while dancing on the clouds, a welcome speech by the bride and groom, Teresa mixed Vietnamese into parts of their day to honor her heritage, sweet speeches by their best man and maid of honor and Kevin danced with Teresa’s mother in honor of his late parents. But their personalized details didn’t end there – on the back of each escort card, the couple wrote a personalized note for every guest, their favors were cheesesteaks to go, but the most epic part of the evening was a firework display for all their guests over the golf course!
Teresa and Kevin met at the University of Pennsylvania where Teresa attended for her undergraduate studies and Kevin was in his graduate program. There was literal chemistry between them – Kevin helped Teresa a lot with her organic chemistry experiments as Teresa was taking her last chemistry course of her undergraduate program. As Teresa finished the semester and prepared for graduation, Kevin mentioned he wanted to try soup dumplings but did not know where to go. Teresa did not think much about it and being an avid soup dumpling lover, she offered to show him around Chinatown and the best soup dumpling spots. They took a long walk from UPenn to Chinatown, talked a lot during that night, tried out the best soup dumplings in town, and the rest is history.
The proposal: The proposal was a bit unique as the country just started the national shutdown due to the pandemic. During that time, Kevin and Teresa spent a lot of time cooking and learning new recipes. One day as they were preparing to cook, Kevin presented a dozen of macarons to Teresa, her most favorite dessert. Teresa noticed a smaller, green-looking macaron in the box. When she picked it up, she realized it was actually a macaron-shaped, ring container and before she knew it, Kevin got down on one knee. Needless to say, Teresa said yes and those were the best macarons that they ever had!
A few of Teresa’s and Kevin’s favorite memories from their relationship include taking road trips on each other’s birthday weekends, trying out new recipes, and their yearly visit to the Philadelphia Christmas Village and getting a personalized Christmas ornament for the year.
Thank you to Teresa and Kevin for choosing me to photograph your Summer Wedding at Scotland Run Golf Club, congratulations on your marriage!
