WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
October 31, 2017
on October 21st, I photographed Kendyl and Michael’s Collingswood Grand Ballroom Wedding! I am so excited to share this gorgeous Fall wedding.
Kendyl and Michael both grew up in Haddonfield, New Jersey. They first met in high school where they had a few classes together freshmen year. Michael always had his eye on Kendyl from the very first class they attended together, but she didn’t know it. As the years went on they got to know each other better and became friends during their senior year. Shortly after high school in 2007 they began dating.Â
In August of 2015, Michael and Kendyl were on a family vacation in Hawaii. Michael had been planning for months on how he would propose. My couple enjoy the outdoors so Michael thought Hawaii would be the prefect place to ask her to marry him. He planned to pop the question on the cliff side next to Makapu’u Point Lighthouse, he felt as though the scenery was beautiful and it would be a perfect proposal. Since they had been together for over 9 years, Michael felt as though it had to be special – although like every great proposal, it didn’t go as planned! They started the day with a hike up to a waterfall with the whole family and afterwards everyone was tired. After the hike and lunch, the family decided it would be fun to go snorkeling and hang out on the beach, because of this, Michael could not convince Kendyl to go to the lighthouse. She insisted she wanted to spend that extra time with everyone and go snorkeling. Michael’s second plan was to convince Kendyl to go to Halona Blowhole lookout but Kendyl wanted to get back to the hotel so Michael had to convince her it wasn’t another hike, just a quick stop. Finally Michael’s moment was here! As Kendyl was taking pictures of the scenery, Michael got down on one knee as she turned around, he proposed! He proceeded to tell her she messed up all his plans that day, but wouldn’t want it any other way!Â
I knew their wedding day would be perfect, especially from how cute they were at their engagement session last year. I started the day at Kendyl’s parents home in Haddonfield, New Jersey. I loved photographing all her details, especially her bouquet from Leigh Florist, the succulents were perfect and they were mixed with my other favorite flower, anemones! I love Collingswood Grand Ballroom weddings, the outside has a ton of perfect spots for photos and we used every inch for their first look, couple, bridal party and family photos. Ceremony was on the lawn 0ver looking the large tree and the officiant was Michael’s uncle, which added a sweet and personal tough. One of my favorite parts about a Collingswood Grand Ballroom wedding is the spot light dance! Once the speeches were over, this group partied until the end, so much so the Collingswood Fire Department had to respond to fire alarms going off!
I hope you two are enjoying your honeymoon in Iceland! Scroll through to view my favorites from their Collingswood Grand Ballroom wedding! xoxo
