WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEWBORN SESSION >
October 27, 2020
Earlier this Summer, I photographed Marissa and Rick’s Corson’s Inlet engagement session in Ocean City, NJ. Marissa and Rick first met in college at Gwynedd Mercy University through friends and their first date was at Texas Roadhouse on May 17th, 2016. Rick first knew she was the one at her college graduation in May of 2017, she was wearing a white dress and looked absolutely beautiful, but it was a monsoon that day and it could have easily ruined her graduation, but Marissa’s big smile and positive attitude showed him they could get through anything in life. Marissa doesn’t know specifically when she knew he was the one, but during their first year of dating she was in X-ray school and they did not live in the same state, so they could only see each other on weekends. While in school, she was stressed a majority of the time and Rick was always there to support and calm her down. Talking and seeing him made everything better.
Engaged on 11/02/2019, the proposal from Marissa: “On November 2nd, Rick, his brother Mike, his girlfriend Mikaela and I went to William Heritage Winery. When we got there, Mikaela said that she would like to take a picture in the orchard before we went to sit down at the winery. Once at the orchards, Mike and Mikaela took a picture first, then asked us if we would like to take a picture. Of course we said yes, and after taking the first picture, Rick went down on one knee. That’s when I saw something running at us and it was our family friend who is also a photographer. That’s where I black out and forget what Rick said. Obviously I said yes. After the excitement and a couple more pictures, we started walking toward the winery. We entered the back side of the winery, where close to 50 family members and friends were waiting to surprise and congratulate us!! Once we drank some delicious wine and took even more pictures we headed back to our house where there was decorations and tons of food. We partied the rest of the night with friends.”
When Marissa and Rick aren’t planning their modern and rustic wedding at Camden County Boathouse, they enjoy going to sporting events and going out to eat and trying new places. Once married, their dream is growing old together. They would also like to travel for their one year anniversary once everything is safe with COVID-19. They would like 2-3 kids and something that excites them is being able to see the qualities they love about one another in their future children.
Any advice for future couple’s planning?
Save a lot of money and pray there is not another pandemic.
And finally, what are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
Rick says he’s excited to see Marissa walk down the aisle and for the party after! Marissa says she is most excited to marrying her best friend and making a ton of memories with family and friends!
Thank you Marissa and Rick for allowing me to photograph your Corson’s Inlet engagement session!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
