On June 4th, I photographed Stephanie and Tim’s Indian Trail Club Wedding in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Their romantic wedding had a color palette of light blue and peach with lots of greenery and was a joy to photograph. We had beautiful weather and their unique day was filled with so much love. Stephanie and Tim were actually married in a church ceremony a couple of weeks before so their day was just getting ready, portraits and reception!
Despite having grown up within a mile of each other and belonging to the same parish in Paramus, NJ, Steph and Tim didn’t meet until after Steph had dated a classmate of Tim’s from Don Bosco Prep. Tim was immediately romantically interested in Steph, but his interest wasn’t reciprocated. Instead, Stephanie diverted his amorous attention toward a classmate of her own at Holy Angels. After high school, they went their separate ways.
Fast forward nearly 20 years to March 2021. While attending a ladies night at a local watering hole with a couple of gal-pals, Steph made a post to her Instagram story. Noticing the post and never having forgotten her, Tim replied and a dialog between the pair began, during which Steph learned that Tim had been living in Delaware. Having grown weary of the dating scene, Steph finally relented and the pair made plans to meet up around Easter when Tim would be in the area visiting family. Their first date at Thatcher McGees went well enough that Tim would make the trip up from Delaware each of the following 10 weekends to see Steph until returning to North Jersey with a new job.
When it came time to propose, Tim wanted to do something special and meaningful for Steph. She had been very close to her late Uncle Billy, who’d owned a lake house outside of Oneonta. The couple had made several trips there for weekend getaways, always enjoying the picturesque scenery and relaxed atmosphere. During one of their visits with her brother and his family, Steph accompanied Tim on a midday walk down to the lakefront to take in the views. At this point, Tim took a knee, made several heartfelt remarks, and presented Steph with a watermelon Ring Pop, her favorite flavor. She wasn’t quite sold on the gag gift, until Tim retrieved a second ring box from his pocket containing Steph’s proper engagement ring. After accepting his proposal (and both rings), the couple celebrated with her brother’s family, their dog Harley, and a bottle of champagne!
Thank you to Stephanie and Tim for choosing me to photograph your Indian Trail Club wedding!
