There is nothing sweeter than welcoming a brand-new baby into the studio, and it was such a joy to photograph baby Leo during his newborn session. As a Moorestown NJ Baby Photographer, I love creating timeless portraits that families will treasure for generations, and Leo’s session was the perfect example of that classic, elegant style.

Leo’s parents chose a beautiful color palette of rich blue paired with soft white and cream accents. These neutral tones created a clean, timeless look that keeps the focus exactly where it belongs—on their beautiful baby boy.

A Relaxed Start with Family Portraits

Every newborn session in my Moorestown studio begins with family photographs while everyone is fresh and baby is settling into the space. We captured heartfelt images of the new family together before moving on to individual portraits of Leo with each parent.

These parent portraits are always some of my favorites. They beautifully document the incredible bond between parent and child during those first precious days and become treasured keepsakes for years to come.

Classic Newborn Portraits in Blue & Cream

After family portraits, Leo drifted off into a deep sleep, allowing us to create a wonderful variety of classic newborn images. We incorporated several shades of blue as the primary color while using soft cream and white layers to keep the overall look bright, clean, and timeless.

One of my favorite parts of every newborn session is using simple textures and minimal props that complement baby without distracting from them. Leo looked absolutely perfect wrapped snugly in several carefully selected prop setups, peacefully sleeping throughout each pose.

Ending with Timeless Bean Bag Portraits

We finished Leo’s session with one of my favorite setups—simple posed portraits featuring just a cozy knit hat. Without additional wraps or props, these final images highlight every tiny detail, from his sweet expressions to his delicate fingers and tiny toes.

These minimalist portraits never go out of style and often become family favorites because they beautifully showcase baby’s natural features.
