A couple of months ago, I photographed Nicole and Zach’s Cape May engagement session. Nicole and Zach met in March of 2012 at a mutual friend’s college graduation party and a conversation at the bar led them to taking a chance to get to know one other.
Nicole and Zach were engaged nearly a year ago during the polar vortex. Zach had planned a romantic dinner cruise around New York City and tried proposing 3 times outside, each time in front of the best landmarks and failed each time because of the cold and Nicole desperately wanting to go back inside! Thankfully he was able to get her outside long enough for the actual proposal before the cruise ended 🙂
We started the engagement session at Cape May winery, a gorgeous and rustic winery in the middle of my all-time favorite town. This was my first time back to Cape May since my own wedding last March! At the winery, we purchased a bottle of wine and set up a pretty blanket among the vines. It felt like we were the only people there on this gorgeous Fall day.
A short while later, we headed to Congress Hall for a few more romantic portraits on the patio of the iconic Cape May hotel.
We ended the engagement session on the beach directly across from Congress Hall and had the perfect late afternoon light for it.
I am looking forward to seeing these two again on July 30th of this year for their wedding at Park Savoy! Scroll through to view more from their gorgeous Fall engagement session.
