Last Spring, I photographed Katie and Earl’s Sayen Gardens Engagement Session in Hamilton, NJ. We chose this gorgeous location as the backdrop for their session as we knew the gardens would be filled with spring blooms and we captured so much color – this is why Sayen Gardens is one of my preferred locations for any type of session!
Katie and Earl met during their first year of law school, when Earl kept raising his hand to show off in their class, Civil Procedure. They became friends shortly thereafter, but didn’t start dating until the end of their third year, just in time to do bar prep together! If they can survive studying 12 hours a day, 7 days a week together, they can do anything!
Katie and Earl were engaged on October 7, 2020 and they are planning a Jersey Shore wedding at Windows on the Water at Surfrider Beach Club on April 23, 2022 and I cannot wait to photograph it! When they are not busy planning their Spring wedding, they love to travel together, especially if they can stop at a local brewery or winery for drinks (and photographs for instagram).
Any advice for future couple’s planning?
Try to make it as fun as you can. And maybe don’t plan during a pandemic when the world is shut down and everyone’s in panic mode so everything is booked for twelve months. But mostly, remember that this is supposed to be a fun process and not everyone will remember/nitpick every detail the way you will.
