Last weekend, I photographed Kristina and Mason’s The Reeds at Shelter Haven Wedding in Stone Harbor, NJ. Kristina & Mason had a beautiful Fall day for their romantic Jersey Shore wedding that had a color palette of green with pops of fall colors of rust and orange. We had an adorable first look with my happy bride and groom before completing their portraits at the Wetlands Institute followed by a personal ceremony officiated by their close friend. These HUGE Phillies fans made their reception entrance with custom Phillies jerseys and not only got to celebrate their marriage but a Phillies win as well! Their dance floor was one of the most fun all year and I loved capturing every minute of their The Reeds at Shelter Haven wedding!
Kristina and Mason first met at West Chester University. Their paths had crossed a few times before meeting each other as they had both been involved in a campus club called “Love Your Melon” that raised money and awareness for childhood cancer. A year later, they were introduced when Mason had moved into an apartment with a mutual friend after joining a fraternity together. The fraternity was holding a fundraiser for an organization that Mason and his friends had started, in honor of their friend that passed away from Ewing Sarcoma. In classic college fashion, the event was auctioning off guys in the fraternity for girls to go to their date party with them! Mason was up for auction, and Kristina was front row bidding her heart out. At one point, she even outbid herself because she wanted to be his date so bad! She ended up losing the auction, but Mason texted her that night to thank her for boosting his ego, and the rest is history!
Engaged on 06/26/21, the proposal from Kristina, ” We were out to dinner on vacation down in Hilton Head Island. Our family had gone out to a dock on the water to take some pictures. When it was our turn for a picture I went to check how I looked (because I HATED my hair and outfit that day) and I turned around to Mason pulling the ring out of his pocket and getting down on one knee!”
When these two weren’t planning their The Reeds at Shelter Haven wedding, they love taking their corgi Betty, for walks. They are both big sports fans and love Marvel movies. They are both super busy with their careers right now so they have learned to appreciate their time together when they have it. Their advice for couple’s currently planning is to communicate and listen to what the other has to say, it’s both of your days! They were most looking forward to being able to celebrate their love story with all of their closest friends and family who have been through so many stages of life with them these past 6 years! Now that they are married, they would love to travel their first couple of years of marriage. They both finally feel stable in their careers after both going through graduate school and focusing their time and efforts on that over the past three years. They both agree it’ll be nice to be able to plan things out after the wedding for places they’d like to go!
Kristina and Mason are currently on their honeymoon, thank you for choosing me to photograph your The Reeds at Shelter Haven wedding!
Every part of our journey through life is sacred and passes by way too quickly. Susan elegantly captures the story of your legacy from the beginning with marriage and throughout motherhood with each special season it brings.
