Behind the Scenes 2020 – Susan Hennessey Photography

Every year, I share my best of weddings blog post and 2020 was quite the year! I started off to a busy start with 2 February weddings and the first of those two happened to have THREE of my former couples in attendance, I couldn’t believe it! Sometimes I forget how many weddings I have photographed for my business (I will hit 200 in 2021!) and seeing my former couples in attendance always warms my heart, especially since all three of those couples either welcomed a little one in 2020 or are expecting <3

When the pandemic hit in March, I honestly thought only March-early May weddings would be affected but then one after another after another my couples cancelled or rescheduled. I was fearful I wouldn’t photograph ANY weddings in 2020, but I got lucky and one June couple and one July couple still opted to get married on their original date and by August, my season really took off! I photographed 15 weddings after the pandemic hit and I am so happy I was able to capture that many! While most drastically altered their plans by switching venues, moving their weddings outdoors and cutting guest counts, their weddings were still perfect! Two years ago, I posted my first behind the scenes blog post and loved it so much I continued keeping all the test shots and fun behind the scene photos myself and second shooters take of each other.

I truly have a blast photographing weddings, whether it’s helping you with your veil, carrying  your bouquet, fixing your train, lining up your bridal party, posing everyone or pinning boutonnieres, I am happy to be there every step of the way to ensure you receive perfect wedding photography. These images are just a small behind the scene glimpse, I already cannot wait to see the fun BTS photographs we will capture in 2021!
