Olde Mill Inn Wedding | Basking Ridge, NJ

On April 22nd, I photographed Stephanie and John’s Olde Mill Inn Wedding in Basking Ridge, NJ. They had an intimate highly personal wedding that was romantic and had a touch of rustic.

Stephanie and John met on eHarmony first and talked for several weeks before their first date. That first date was totally spontaneous. Stephanie had told John she wouldn’t meet him for awhile and then one Saturday in late January of 2018 she casually asked him to get lunch. They had Chinese food at in Edgewater, NJ and have been together ever since!

Stephanie knew John was the one early on, they had been talking for weeks and she knew his heart; he was kind, patient and so attentive. It was unlike anything she had ever experienced! John’s moment was when Stephanie and John were in Disney together with his daughters, their time together felt so natural.

Engaged on 03/11/2022, the proposal: “John had planned a spa weekend in the Catskills at a resort where Stephanie and John had their first getaway and had exchanged their first “I love you’s” four years earlier. Stephanie had just finished a several month intense work project so she was a bit oblivious. John booked the hotel, restaurants and they spent the first day of the getaway getting a couple’s massage. John wouldn’t tell Stephanie where they were going for dinner, yet she still had no clue! He drove her to a secluded country house farm-to-table restaurant and after dinner, before dessert, John popped the question. Stephanie was totally floored, did not hear a word he said and later asked him to repeat the words he actually spoke!”

When Stephanie and John weren’t planning their Olde Mill Inn wedding, they love to be with great people – family and friends, they love traveling, hosting dinner parties and bbq’s, finding great restaurants, spending time outdoors (they love their fire pit!) – with the kids they love board games, holidays, going to LBI and creating memories!

Now married, their dreams include enjoying each other, traveling, supporting John’s children in being confident and independent young women and sharing great moments with the wonderful people in their lives. Their advice for couple’s currently their weddings are to create things that are just for you to do and create healthy boundaries with family members. They were most looking forward to just being able to be in the same room with so many people they love, that is truly a blessing.
